About this ingredient
Vitamin B-3, commonly known as Niacin, is an essential water-soluble B vitamin that supports energy metabolism, normal nervous system function, skin health, and the maintenance of healthy cells. Niacin is a precursor to NAD and NADP, important coenzymes involved in numerous metabolic reactions throughout the body.
Vitamin B-3 occurs naturally in foods such as meat, poultry, fish, peanuts, mushrooms, and whole grains. The body can also produce some niacin from the amino acid tryptophan. Dietary supplements may contain forms such as nicotinic acid or nicotinamide (niacinamide), which have different physiological effects.
